Running Macbook OS X 10.5.5, Live 7.0.9, Emu XBoard 49 + all firmware updated.ĮDIT: IVE SORTED THIS OUT NOW WITH SOME HELP - WOOOO - I was being a complete dunce and hadnt activated the 'Remote' for midi-in. Im hoping Ive just overlooked something noob-esque. So, Well done to anyone who read all that, but can anyone help me? Ive tried looking through all the toolbars and preferences but cant see a way of getting to it :s On page 352 (live 7 manual) 'The Mapping Browser' it has a picture showing the button for the mapping browser - on the far left of the screen (underneath the devices/browsers buttons) - but its not there in Live for me. When I was researching before I bought this unit, the quality of the keys' feel and response was frequently cited as the best in this price range, beating out M-Audio and Alesis. Although I did notice something strange when going through my Ableton manual - The XBoard's semi-weighted, synth-action, velocity-sensitive keys with aftertouch seem to be regarded as best-in-class. Ive tried going through all the steps given in relevant EMU & Ableton manuals. The keyboard is now set back to midi-out and the PC is out of the equation, but I know that the knobs actually work. Also Ive sent midi from Macbook (Ableton) to PC (Stand alone synth) via the Keyboard (set to Midi-Thru) and thats works fine. Using Midi-Learn I can control various parameters via the knobs on the keyboard. On my PC Ive been running a synth in standalone and that works fine. At the top right the little light blinks orange when I press a key so it is receiving Midi In information. Live recognizing the keyboard as Midi In and I can play notes from VSTs and pitch bend fine. When I try assigning in Midi-Map mode and i select a parameter (eg filter cutoff in Automat) and move one of the knobs nothing happens. Im trying to midi map the controllers on my EMU Xboard to various parameters in Live and coming across some problems - nothing works! lol.
